Lance was a member of several organizations that he felt very strongly about including the NRA, Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine, and the Elks. He had many passions in life outside of his family and career. He was an avid outdoorsman driven by the seasons. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, gardening, and spending time at their camp on Junior Lake with friends and family which were so dear to him.
Lance had an inquisitive personality, exploring his surroundings with great curiosity. He was an honest, respected, hard-working, steadfast man.
Lance is survived by his wife Brenda, their two sons and their families; Lance Jr., his wife Sheila Lawlor and grandson Owen; Colton and his wife Terri and grandson Hunter; mother Gloria and five brothers Al, Mark, Blaise, Neal and Glenn.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wiscasset. A celebration of life to follow at the Elks lodge in Brunswick.
The arrangements have been prepared by Demers- Desmond Funeral Home. To share your thoughts and condolences with the family, please visit www.desmondfuenralhomes.com.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
