Shayna Davis of Massabesic High School, left, and Carissa Gelinas of Biddeford High School have been elected as Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens in their respective schools.

Rebecca Emery Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held their annual tea, during which members honored the 2014-2015 DAR Good Citizen winners.

Six area high schools participated and elected a member of the senior class as the DAR Good Citizen of their school. Three students were unable to attend the tea. Those who attended included: Shayna Davis of Massabesic High School; Nisha Patel of Sanford High School; and Carissa Gelinas of Biddeford High School.

The qualities that the schools look for in a DAR Good Citizen are Dependability, Service, and Patriotism.

The students also participate in an optional scholarship essay contest.

Davis was the overall winner. She will be considered in the state contest.
