Cromwell enrolls at Colgate University

HAMILTON, N.Y. — Grace Cromwell, of York, is a member of the Colgate University bicentennial Class of 2019.

Maine graduates of Simmons College

BOSTON, Mass. — The following local residents recently received a degree from Simmons College: Brittany Lynn Boilard of Biddeford and Shae Rose Riley of Sanford received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the School of Management and Hannah Louise L’Heureux of Sanford received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Margaret Chase Smith scholarship fund recipient

Fiber Materials Inc. is pleased to announce its annual award of the Margaret Chase Scholarship Fund for 2015-2016 to a UMaine student whose parent is employed at FMI. This FMI sponsored award was established for students entering the University of Maine educational system. It is presented in the name of former United States Senator Margaret Chase Smith whose lifetime contributions to education and leadership personify the spirit and intent of this scholarship award. The recipient selection is based on scholastic abilities, extracurricular activities and community involvement by the Scholarship Committee at the University of Southern Maine.

The award winner for this upcoming school year is Andrew Mowatt, son of David and Sherry Mowatt of Buxton.

Andrew is an accounting major with a concentraiton/minor in coaching at the University of Southern Maine at Portland/ Gorham. He is a second time award winner and will be continuing his studies at the University of Southern Maine this coming year.

Andrew is a former graduate of Bonny Eagle High School and was active in intramural sports and the Hollis recreational basketball program.

Over the years, Andrew has contributed his time and talent to the Hollis Recreation Department, volunteering in different programs such as: baseball, basketball refereeing, and soccer, including their after-care program
