Keith Dubois is also charged with violating conditions of release in connection with a previous firearms charge.
He was arrested Saturday night.
Sheriff Bill King said Deputy Corey Sweatt responded to a 911 hangup call in the 200 block of Milton Mills Road around 9 p.m., and found the victim inside a car in the driveway and the alleged perpetrator pounding on the car.
The victim was bleeding profusely from the nose. King said her forehead was swollen.
According to the sheriff, Dubois, who was holding a knife, confronted Sweatt and ordered the deputy off the property.
King said another deputy was able to respond fairly quickly, and Dubois willingly surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
Acton Fire and Rescue Fire and Rescue took the victim to Southern Maine Health Care, where she was treated and released.
Dubois is held at York County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail.
A Class B felony carries a maximum prison term of 10 years upon conviction.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
