
She was born in Biddeford on Aug. 19, 1914, a daughter of Philippe and Rosilda (Allard) Mathieu. She graduated from Biddeford High School.
Marie Rose was employed by Reilly’s Bakery, Liggett’s Drug Store and Butler’s Department Store as department head and purchaser of ladies’ fashion. Later, she was the assistant manager of Ward Brothers at the Maine Mall and retired from Jordan Marsh in 1995 as head of the Elizabeth Arden cosmetic department. Marie Rose really enjoyed working with the public during her career.
Some of her favorite pastimes were entertaining her family and vacationing and boating at Rangely Lake.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Blaine Sr. on Jan. 9, 1995; and by three brothers, Albert, Oscar, and Raymond Mathieu.
She is survived by: her son, Blaine Turner Jr. and his wife Pauline of Saco; four grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, with a funeral service to at 11 a.m. the same day at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.
