Travel field hockey
For girls entering grades 3-6.
The program begins Sept. 11 and will be held on the Mt. Ararat High School field hockey field for eight weeks from
15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Mt. Ararat varsity field hockey players and coaches will run the program.
The cost is $45 for residents of School Administration District 75, with non-residents paying $55.
Equipment packages are available by calling the Rec.
Players will also participate in Sunday scrimmages, the first possibly being played on Sept. 13.
‘Baby Eagles’
This field hockey program is for girls ages 4-7, running on Fridays (Sept. 11, 18, 25, Oct. 2) from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the Mt. Ararat practice field.
The cost is $30 and includes a T-shirt.
Cross country
This program begins on Sept. 16 and runs for seven weeks from the Foreside Recreation area. Practices will be held on Mondays (except the first week) and Thursdays beginning at 5:15 p.m.
Meets will be held beginning Sept. 23 with various Mid-coast communities each Wednesday. Parents are responsible for transportation. A schedule of meets/directions will be available.
Children ages 6-12 are eligible to participate, with ages 6-7 requiring parental supervision.
Registration is $30 for Topsham residents, $40 for non-residents.
Adult golf
Adult Beginner golf lessons will be held on Fridays at Highland Green Golf Course in Topsham at 9:30 a.m.
Group size is limited to 12 golfers, first-come, first-served.
Lessons will be held Sept. 18 and 25, along with Oct. 2 and 9.
The cost is $60 for Topsham residents, $70 for non-residents.
Youth basketball
The Topsham Youth Basketball League is currently holding registrations through Nov. 1.
The league is open to players entering grades 3-6 that live in Topsham.
Practices begin in mid-November, with the first games set for Dec. 5.
The cost to play is $45.
Little Dribblers
Join the Mt. Ararat varsity girls basketball team and head coach Andy Morris for this six-week program, which focuses on skill and fun for players entering grades 1-2 in SAD-75 schools.
The program begins Jan. 2, with a cost of $35.
The deadline to register is Dec. 11.
Top Hoops
This program is for players in grades 7-8, and is open to both boys and girls.
Mt. Ararat varsity basketball coach Steve Cox and his players will teach this six-week skill and game-oriented program.
Beginning in early January on Saturday mornings, the program will run for six weeks.
The cost is $35 for all SAD-75 district athletes.
Travel basketball
The Topsham Rec. will be combining its fifth- and sixth-grade girls travel program with the Ararat League, which consists of fifth- and sixthgraders from Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell and Topsham.
All players who play on the travel team must also participate in the community recreational teams.
Tryouts will be held at Mt. Ararat Middle School in early October.
