TOPSHAM — Topsham Public Library is accepting submissions for its annual writing competition, The Joy of the Pen, starting Sept. 1. The Joy of the Pen is free to enter for year-round Maine residents, both amateur and professional. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, Maine-related nonfiction and teen. Submission is online at joyofthepen.topshamlibrary.org. The deadline for submission is Oct. 10. A reception and reading will be held on Nov. 14 to announce the winners.
