BRUNSWICK
A Brunswick man was
held in custody without bail at the Cumberland County jail facing multiple charges stemming from an alleged domestic assault Tuesday evening on a woman who was 8-months pregnant.
According to Brunswick Police Commander Marc Hagan, officers were dispatched to Wheeler Park at around 5 p.m. following a 911 call and an immediate hangup.
Hagan said that when officers arrived they could hear screaming and yelling from inside the residence of 26- year-old Joshua Arnold, the 23-year-old victim, and two young children, ages 1 and 4.
The victim alleged Arnold struck her in the head four times before grabbing her throat in an attempt to strangle her according to police. Police said that upon her attempt to dial 911, Arnold threatened to kill her, causing her to hang up.
Arnold is charged with domestic violence assault, aggravated assault and domestic violence terrorizing for the death threat. Arnold is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County Superior Court Sept. 22.
Hagan said the victim did not require immediate medical attention.
