AUGUSTA (AP) — Maine’s Democratic party will run Lynn Olson of Standish in a November special election to fill a seat in the state House of Representatives.

The party announced Olson as its selection for District 23 on Monday. A spokeswoman for the state Republican party says the party is running Lester Ordway for the seat.

Four-term Rep. Michael A. Shaw, a Democrat, resigned from the seat on Aug. 21. Shaw is resigning because he’s moving out of the district for his job, which is now based at a new location.
