From the Journal Tribune: “The best thing to do at Sanford Regional Airport this Saturday and Sunday is to look up. What you’ll see, barring a torrential downpour or hurricane-force winds, are radio-controlled model jets doing aerobatic maneuvers. Showers or light rain probably won’t stop them.”

From the Biddeford-Saco Journal: “Machines at the Saco-Lowell New England Division of Maremont Corp. plant in Saco were still whirring today as the result of the union’s acceptance of a new two year contract at a mass meeting in Biddeford yesterday aftertnoon. Acceptance of the pact by a near unanimous voice vote yesterday came only hours before a strike deadline at midnight last night by the 900 workers at the Saco facility.”

From the Biddeford Daily Journal: “Last week we had three of the hottest and most uncomfortable days days of the season. The mercury was 95 in the shade on Wednesday, and the humidity above 90 so that it was the most oppressive and also the hottest of the summer.”
