KENNEBUNK — Kennebunk police, in conjunction with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, arrested two men on Thursday after finding a growing operation capable of producing seven pounds of marijuana in their home.
Police recieved an anonymous tip that the singlefamily home at 316 Alewive Road in Kennebunk was being used to grow drugs and that individuals in the home had firearms.
KPD’s new Special Enforcement Team and the Maine DEA executed a search warrant and found marijuana plants at the residence, which were described in a police press release as “fully mature (and) approximately 10- 12 foot high,” worth about $15,000, as well as a shotgun, a rifle and a handgun at the scene; all of which were loaded.
Niles O’Hanley, 29, formerly of Massachusetts, and David Rodriguez, 29, formerly of New York, were arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in Schedule Z drugs, a Class C crime which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
