KENNEBUNK — Kennebunk took the first set on Tuesday, but after that it would be all Biddeford as the Tigers rolled to a 3-1 victory.

The Rams won a back-and-forth opening set 26-24 before the Tigers took the next three, 25-8, 25-10 and 25-1.

Biddeford was led by Jocelyn Moody with an impressive 35 digs and Kendra Cote added 19 kills in the win.

The Tigers would also get 12 aces from Faith Tourigny, who finished with 22 service points overall and 17 assists. Grace Martin added 19 service points with 10 aces and Megan Friel chipped in with 11 assists.

Thornton Academy 3, Bonny Eagle 0

The Golden Trojans (9-1) rolled to a sweep on Tuesday with set wins of 25-20, 25-15 and 25-17.

Kylee Austin led TA with 14 kills and two aces and Julia Chasse added 22 assists in the win.

The Trojans also got 10 digs and eight kills from Ashley Howe and Kaylee Burns chipped in with 10 digs and six kills.

Bonny Eagle (5-3) was led by Katie Champagne, who ended the night with three kills and two aces.

The Trojans have a week off until welcoming in defending state champion Cape Elizabeth on Tuesday. The game will be “Senior Night” for the Golden Trojans.

Deering 3, Wells 1

After Deering and Wells split the first two sets, the Rams won the last two sets 26-24 and 25-23 to pull out the win.

Wells, which won the second set 25-16, was led by Kait Schott with 10 assists, eight digs, two aces and one kill.

The Warriors got 10 digs, five kills, one block and one ace from Alyssa Loukola and Halee Ramsdell added three digs, three aces, three kills and one assist. Isabelle Smith finished with eight digs, one ace and one kill; Michelle Disjardins added six digs, two assists and one ace; Devyn Harding finished with five digs and one ace and Olivia Muse chipped in with four kills.

Wells (2-7) will visit Lake Region on Thursday.

Girls Soccer

Kennebunk 2, York 1

The Rams handed the visiting Wildcats their first loss on the season thanks to a late goal from Lily Wolff.

Wolff would score with under 10 minutes left in the game to give Kennebunk the win.

York, which fell to 5-1-2 with the loss, got on the board first with Maddie Amidon scoring in the first half.

Kelli Malloy would provide the equalizer for Kennebunk in the second half.

Boys Soccer

Sanford 6, Noble 0

The Spartans used six first-half goals to pick up a win over Noble on Tuesday and improve to 3-5 on the season.

Mitch Duncan led the way for Sanford with four goals and one assist. Patrick Morris scored twice and also dished out three assists to Duncan.

Earl Fall added two assists for the Spartans, who fired 28 shots at the Noble keepers. Tyler Burgess stopped four shots to earn the shutout for Sanford.

Golf

Biddeford 12, Sanford 1

The host Tigers would sweep five of the six matches and take the overall team score to pick up a dominating win over Sanford (3-6) at Dutch Elm on Tuesday.

Biddeford’s Jason Vadnais and Ricky Ruck led all golfers with a pair of four-over rounds of 40.

Mike Reisfelder fired a 42 to pick up two points for the Tigers, who also got two points from Carter Burnell (45) and Kerry Crepeau (46).

Biddeford’s Logan Magnant and Sanford’s Matt Small each shot 57 to split the two points.

The Tigers (8-1) won the team point by a 213-263 margin.

Cape Elizabeth 7, Wells 0

The Warriors would get a 42 from Seamus McDonough, but that wouldn’t be enough to beat Cape Elizabeth’s Ryan Collins, who shot a 40, and the rest of the match would also go the Capers way.

All six of Cape Elizabeth’s golfers would finish with rounds of 45 or lower on Tuesday.

Field Hockey

Sacopee Valley 6, Old Orchard Beach 0

Abby Mosson had a monster game for Sacopee Valley as she scored all six goals in the win.

Old Orchard Beach had one goal called back for being outside the 25.
