I am writing in support of Ron Michaud’s candidacy for mayor of Saco. I have known Ron for many years and have always been impressed with the keen interest and attention he has always given to city issues as both a private citizen and as an elected official. Ron is a highly principled, experienced, and thoughtful leader.
He has the ability to examine and understand different sides of an issue before he takes a position and advocates for a particular solution but he is always respectful and welcoming of those with differing opinions. He has a track record of proven leadership which will serve the city well as we have just welcomed a new city administrator and we may have several new councilors, as well. Ron will conduct Council meetings in a professional and competent manner. In the past two years, there have been too many occasions when the councilors seemed unsure of what they were actually voting on.
Ron will always take the time to listen to concerns and respond to questions with accurate information and he will move the city forward while at the same time preserving its character and rich history. Please join me and cast your vote for Ron Michaud on Election Day.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
