I write in support of Arthur Tardif ’s candidacy to Saco’s Ward 5 council seat because of his unique value, not only to the residents of Ward 5, but to the entire city. Councilor Tardif ’s training and powers of observation allow him to identify and recommend efficient utilization of the city’s employees.
In addition to continually striving for efficiency in city government operations, Councilor Tardif has strongly held principles and adheres to them. As a result, Saco has seen new home construction bringing in enough tax dollars to pay for all of the expenses in city services the new homes will create. Arthur Tardif ’s efforts have slowed the growth of government so that it does not create a tax burden greater than its benefit to residents.
Art Tardif ’s commitment to the community of Saco goes beyond his service as a city councilor. He has been involved with local baseball and football for many years. He is available, fair and considerate as a bail commissioner. Tardif is open minded, he sticks to the facts and votes his principles, that’s valuable in public servant. Please vote for Art Tardif for Ward 5. It’s a vote that will be returned in service.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
