I am writing to express my strong support for Ron Michaud for mayor of Saco. Having lived in Saco for 30 years, I have known Ron through his service on the City Council and as mayor. During the 1990s, I worked closely with Ron when he was president of the board of directors of the Wardwell Home for the Aging while I served as executive director. Ron guided the organization through one of its most transformational periods in its 125 years of operation. His leadership was instrumental in helping the Wardwell develop one of the first affordable, assisted-living facilities for low-income elders in Maine.
Ron’s long-time commitment to public service in Saco as a planning board member, city councilor, mayor and school board member evidences his deep interest in the quality of life for Saco citizens. He understands the importance of effective municipal services and quality education. He is a pragmatic thinker who insists on efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Ron is a dedicated, authentic, pro-active leader who listens to his constituents. He consistently serves with a positive, forwardthinking outlook. Please join me in voting for Ron Michaud on Nov. 3.
