Help the Chamber Help Others:
On November 13th, the Chamber will host its 29th Annual Holiday Auction. Proceeds are dedicated to Chamber operations that help promote local business, our communities, our region through a variety of programs and events. This year we have partnered with the Wounded Heroes Program as a way to give back to our local wounded veterans who bravely fought to sustain our freedoms. We chose the Wounded Heroes Program because they have local chapters and we are fortunate to have a local chapter run by Pam Payeur of Saco. Our auction will be held just two days after Veteran’s Day which adds fuel to the giving season. The Chamber board agreed to give $500 or 10% of our total profit – whichever is more-to honor our wounded veterans.
One of our member businesses,
Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, recently reached out and has promised to match any Chamber donations dollar for dollar, up to $2500. We are so pleased to receive this news and want to Thank the staff at Modern Woodmen for being so generous .
My appeal to all of you is to clear your calendar and come join us for a wonderful evening. The event will be held at the Ramada Saco, where Chamber Board member Peter Cairns and his staff generously donate the facility for free. For $50 per person, you will be entertained with music by a string quartet from Thornton Academy, enjoy a delicious meal, dessert, and a bottle of red and white wine on the table. The wine sponsor for the evening is Turnbuckle Investment Group/RBC Wealth Management, another generous Chamber member. The evening starts at 6:00PM with networking and active bidding on a silent auction. There will be a cash bar and a champagne raffle. Live auction starts at 8-so don’t be late! It is a fun evening out with friends and colleagues.
This year there are several new items up for auction. I want to Thank each and every Chamber member and several non-members for their donations to this year’s event. The generosity that comes from our communities is overwhelming.
Please attend-We set a goal to sell out this year so we are looking for 150 people. I am sure you will find something to bid on and help support the Chamber and the Wounded Heroes Program. Call or stop in at the Chamber to purchase tickets. I hope to see you there.
