READFIELD — During Yarmouth’s victory against Maranacook in the Class B South boys’ soccer final Wednesday in Readfield, a row in the bleachers was damaged.
Maranacook Athletic Director Al MacGregor said the damage likely occurred when spectators were standing or jumping.
Yarmouth Athletic Director Sue Robbins said the school is investigating possible involvement of Yarmouth students.
“We’ve been in communication with Maranacook and are working together on this,” she said. “We would look to (pay for) any repairs for Maranacook.”
Although he didn’t estimate the costs, MacGregor said the damage was “minimal.”
“This is being taken care of,” he said. “We’ve been in touch with Yarmouth and they are looking into it, too, so it’s being taken care of. We have it under control.”
