Solemnity of Christ the King, 8 a.m., annual event that has been sponsored by the Greater Portland Council of Catholic Men since 1947. Bishop Robert Deeley will celebrate a Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland and a social reception in the Cathedral’s Guild Hall will follow. All are welcome to attend.
Knox County Combined Thanksgiving Service, 4 p.m., hosted by Midcoast Interfaith Alliance and held at Second Congregational Church, 252 Main St., Warren. Featured are area church choirs and hymn singing. Donations will benefit the AIO ministry and food donations will benefit the local food pantries.
Thursday
Thanksgiving Mass, 9 a.m., celebrated by Bishop Robert Deeley at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland. A monetary collection will be taken to benefit Sacred Heart/St. Dominic Food Pantry. Direct donations may be made at portlandcatholic.org/onlinegiving and select “Sacred Heart/St. Dominic Parish” and then “Food Pantry.” Donations of food may also be left at the church on weekends. The parish is located at Sherman and Mellen streets in Portland. To volunteer at the pantry, contact Anne Wolf Johnson at 929-3088.
