Office hours

The Durham Town Office hours are Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 8: 30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; closed Wednesday; and Thursday, 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. The office will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 26 and 27. For more information, call 353-2561. ?

Meetings

The Durham Board of Selectmen will meet Tuesday, Dec. 1, 15 and 29, at 6:30 p.m., at the Durham Town Office.

Sign up now for Giving Tree Project

Applications are now being taken for the Giving Tree Project. Applications can be picked up at the Durham Town Office. After Nov. 23, all applications will be taken by phone at 353-3000, ext 124.

The deadline for applications is Dec. 1. Tags should be at the Durham Town Office by Nov. 30.

FSH seniors set auction, fruit fundraisers

The Freeport High School senior class is conducting two fundraisers this month to help provide safe, chem-free senior week activities in June. An online auction is ongoing during November. New items are being added almost daily, so check the site often. The auction can be found at www.fhsonlineauction.com.

The senior class is also selling fresh grapefruit, oranges and tangerines. A large box of navel oranges (contains some seeds) costs $43, small box, $25. A large box of red grapefruit costs $38, small box, $24. A small box of tangerines is $32. A small variety box is $35, and includes 16-20 oranges, 10 tangerines and six grapefruit. Large boxes are approximately 36-40 pounds, and small boxes are approximately 18-20 pounds. Find the order form on the FHS website under Class of 2016 news. Snowmobile club meeting monthly

Tri-Town Penguins Snowmobile Club meets the last Tuesday of the month through April, at 7 p.m., at the Durham Fire Station, 615 Hallowell Road in Durham. The next meeting is Dec. 29. New members are always welcome. For more information, contact Duncan Daly at 865-6188 or Mike Yates at 865-3555.

Gun raffle tickets on sale

Durham Fire & Rescue has launched its annual “30 Days – 30 Guns in November” gun raffle.

The organization is again working with Johnson’s Sporting Goods. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased from any member of the Durham Fire & Rescue Department. Those interested can stop by the station at 615 Hallowell Road or call 353-2473. Tickets can also be purchased at the Durham Get & Go at 697 Royalsborough Road. Sales are limited to 3,000 tickets, so the odds of winning are 1 in 100.

CEO hours

Couponing sessions

Couponing for the Community meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Eureka Community Center. It is a chance to learn couponing basics from Pat Provost, who also shows members how to use some of their coupons to benefit families in the community and military families overseas. Weekly cribbage

The Durham Eureka Community Center, corner of Route 9 and Route 136, hosts cribbage every Tuesday from 9 a.m.-noon.

Rent Eureka Center

The Durham Eureka Community Center is available for rent. The maximum amount of people the hall holds for an event is 50. Contact Nancy Decker at 751-1323 or the Town Office at 353-2561.

Food pantry

The Lisbon Area Christian Outreach (LACO) food pantry, which serves the towns of Durham, Bowdoin, and Lisbon Falls, is open Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m.-noon and Saturday from 8-10 a.m. The LACO Food Pantry is located at the Marion T. Morse School on School Street, Lisbon Falls. The parking lot is behind the Lisbon United Methodist Church, off Berry Avenue. There is also a free clothing bank.
