SANFORD — AARP is looking for volunteers who are familiar with tax forms and are computer-savvy to volunteer to assist elderly and low to moderate income folks with filing their taxes for free. Tax classes begin Jan. 19 and run through Jan. 29 at the York County Community Action building, at 6 Spruce St. in Sanford.
Classes will be held in the second-floor conference room beginning at 9 a.m. Volunteers then file out into York County communities Feb. 1 through April 15, filing both basic federal and state income tax forms and Maine Property Tax Fairness Credit applications.
