“Jocelyn had some of the best stats in the state, which is made even more impressive by the fact that as a team we were only 5-10 and she also missed a couple games with a shoulder injury,” said coach Chantel Tourigny.
Tourigny spoke very highly of Moody’s leadership as well, stating that her positive attitude spread throughout her team. Considering the down year, that mindset was important for the team.
“Beyond her stats, she was the clear team leader on the court. She has the rare talent of making those around her play better and with more confidence,” said Tourigny. “Her leadership this year was even more important than it has been in the past because we had such a young team.”
Moody also makes an impact on other athletes in her school, according to Tourigny.
“Off the field, Jocelyn is very involved in supporting other school athletics. She also has made a huge commitment to improving herself as an athlete with a rigorous strength and performance training program,” said Tourigny. “With all the time spent on athletics she still finds the time to be a very good student.”
Tourigny believes that athletics will continue to be a big part of Moody’s life and expects her to influence others in a positive way.
“In the future, I see Jocelyn as a volleyball coach and sports performance trainer,” said Tourigny. “I think she will continue for many years to come to have a huge positive impact on both the sport and those that are lucky enough to play with her or by coached by her.”
Tourigny is very proud of the person and player that Moody has become.
“She is certainly a role model for the other players on our team and I am extremely proud of all she has been able to accomplish,” said Tourigny.
