KENNEBUNK — The next parenting class at the Kennebunk Free Library will be Friday, Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. These drop-in sessions, led by Stevie Westmoreland, LMFT, LCPC, offer an opportunity for parents, grandparents and caregivers to share the joys and challenges of parenthood. Westmoreland leads through discussion, offering tips and wisdom from neuroscience and mindfulness. Skills developed will focus on identifying and understanding a child’s basic feelings, calming ourselves down and the positive effect of mirror neurons with your child.
Stevie has been in private practice as a licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed clinical professional counselor for 30 years. She also brings her own experience as a parent and grandparent to the discussion.
Future classes will be held on the first Friday of the month until June at the library. Each month, a new topic will be addressed.
The class is free, wheelchair accessible and open to all. For more information, visit Stevie’s website at www.katherinestevenswestmoreland.com/the-well.html or call her at 985-2511.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
