The “Comfort and Joy” Christmas concert, sponsored by the North Berwick Historical Society, will take place at 7 p.m. at the North Berwick Community Center, 264 Lebanon Road. The group Mosaic will perform. There will be heartwarming harmonies, stories of Christmas near and far, and original arrangements of songs, old and new, with accompaniment by mandolin and guitar. Donations are appreciated.
Directly off his Carnegie Hall performance, Tim Janis, a nationally known composer and musician, will present a special Christmas concert to benefit Hospice of Southern Maine at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Wells. Janis will be joined by an ensemble of professional musicians and a large community choir. Admission is by donation, and all proceeds will go to Hospice of Southern Maine to care for people in York and Cumberland counties with end-stage terminal illness. We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
