Christmas by the Sea ‘Thank you’

We would like to take a moment during this special holiday season to thank the many individuals and organizations whose volunteer efforts and donations made the 23rd annual “Christmas by the Sea” event the success it was on Dec. 6.

Hundreds attended and enjoyed the costumed characters, the holiday trolley, food, goodies, warm drinks, games, face painting, choirs, visits with Santa and the spectacular tree lighting. The “Christmas by the Sea” event is made possible through the continued generous support of Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution and the Old Orchard Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Our special thanks and gratitude to the Christmas by the Sea Committee: Cheryl Poulopoulos, Carolyn Lamontagne, Mike Halle, Ray Deleo, Peter Cairns, Joshua King and Heather Guglielmo. Additionally, we would like to thank Town Manager Larry Mead, Biddeford-Saco-OOB Shuttlebus Company, Barbara Delage, Chief Rick Plummer and the OOB Fire Department, Brittany Elwell and Mark Manduca and the grades 6-8 and high school choirs, the OOB High School girls soccer team, OOB Department of Public Works, Landry’s Hannaford Store, Barbara Shiely, Mark Guay, Nickels the mascot, Helene and Carter Whittaker, and the many dedicated volunteers of the 2015 Christmas by the Sea event.

An extra special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus for taking time out of their busy schedule to share the day with us. You looked great!
