The Amvets Department of Maine recently elected Jerry L. DeWitt of New Gloucester as its new commander. DeWitt also serves as the chairman for the L/A Veterans Council and as co-chair of the L/A Maine Military Community Network. He is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Franco American War Veterans, Vietnam Veterans of America and the Cold War Veterans. DeWitt is employed at Tri County Mental Health Services in Lewiston as the veterans outreach project coordinator.
