She was born in Fort Kent on March 3, 1916, a daughter of George and Meddie (Nadeau) Beaulieu. She was educated in Fort Kent schools.
Anna was employed by Hebert’s Restaurant in Biddeford until 1945, where she met her future husband, Lawrence. After the wedding Lawrence said, “You’re working for me now!”
She was a dedicated homemaker taking care of her husband and family, eventually her mother, and Lawrence’s sister in their later years.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening and sewing. Her childhood dream was to go to Israel and travel throughout the US. Anna got to experience most of this in her senior years and enjoyed every minute of it. With all of the changes she observed over time, her famous quote was, “They just don’t do things like they did back up home!” This earned her the title of “Gallivanting Grandma.”
Mrs. Fenderson was a parishioner of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Saco.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, in June of 2001. She has one remaining sister, Angel Feiden.
She is survived by two daughters: Ann Marie Hickey of Holt, Michigan, with whom she resided, and Helen Laplante with her husband, Richard, of Cocoa, Florida. She has seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
