GRAY — Roy A. Stoodley, 65, of Gray, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Born March 24, 1950 in Farmington, Roy was the son of Kenneth R. and Helen (Billing) Stoodley. He graduated from Thornton Academy, class of 1969. He also attended a vocational-technical school in Boston, before proudly serving as an airman in the U.S. Air Force from 1973 to 1977. Following his service to his country, Roy worked as a farmhand and herdsman at several dairy farms. He later enrolled at Northeast Technical Institute, graduating with his CDL Class A license. Before his most recent employment at Piedmont Airlines in Portland, Roy worked with Hartt Transportation for 18 years as well as Yarmouth Lumber and several other trucking companies. He enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, of whom he was very proud.

Roy is survived by his wife Cynthia Wildes Phillips- Stoodley of Gray, whom he married on June 30, 1996, after seven years together. He is also survived by his stepson James A. Phillips and his fiance Stephanie Mitchell of New Gloucester; his daughters Kim St.Clair and her husband Michael of New Gloucester and Karen Moon and her husband of Milford; their mother, Constance Noelette LaPointe and her husband Dale LaPointe; his sisters Donna and her husband Richard of Lyman and Bonnie Brown and her husband Lee from Union. Roy will also be sadly missed by his eight grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. Burial will directly follow the funeral and will be located at Center Cemetery Post Road in North Hampton, New Hampshire.
