BIDDEFORD — Caitlyn Smith had 11 points and six rebounds to lead the Mt. Ararat High School jayvee girls basketball team to a 38-35 win over Biddeford on Saturday.
The Eagles are 2-6.
Mt. Ararat led 13-6, 18-16 and 30-21 at the quarter breaks and held on as the Tigers rallied in the fourth quarter.
Ainsley Bryant chipped in 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in the win, with Grace Leidman making all six of her free throws. Maddy Beck pulled down six boards, and Abby Sirois had six points (4-for-4 at the charity stripe) and five caroms.
The Eagles finished 17-of-24 at the free-throw line, with Biddeford going 6-of-15.
In earlier action, Mt. Ararat dropped a 28-21 decision to Medomak Valley.
Smith had 14 points, four rebounds and five steals, with Leidman, Sirois and Rachel Eggleston pulling down five boards apiece.
Victoria Wheaton led the Panthers with 10 points.
