TEMPLE (AP) — Authorities say a man has been charged with setting fire to a shed near a home where his ex-wife was staying.

State Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says 53- year-old James Bigos was arrested last week on an arson charge.

Authorities say the Rumford man set fire to a Temple shed on Dec. 20. The owner of the shed used a garden hose to keep the fire from spreading to his house.

The fire burned the shed to the ground, destroyed a vehicle that was inside and caused minor damage to the house.

Investigators say Bigo’s exwife, her daughter and her boyfriend— the homeowner — were at home at the time. No one was injured.

The Sun Journal reports that defense attorney Christopher Berryment says the case is weak.
