OGUNQUIT — When Maine State Police stopped a Biddeford man for driving erratically on the Maine Turnpike just after midnight Wednesday, a trooper allegedly found cocaine in his shoes.
Mason Soto, 26, was arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking and taken to York County Jail in Alfred. A jail official said this morning that Soto is being held on $10,000 cash bail or $2,000 cash bail with a pre-trial contract.
He appeared in court Wednesday, and no new court date has been set.
In a prepared statement, Maine State Police Spokesman Stephen McCausland said police found 49 grams of cocaine in Soto’s shoes after Trooper Kristy Libritz stopped his car in the northbound lane of the turnpike in Ogunquit. The estimated street value of the cocaine is $4,900.
