Ryan was born in Bath on Feb. 9, 1980, a son of Larry and Joanne (Gower) Innes.
He graduated from Morse High School in the class of 1999. After graduation, he attended art school classes at the University of Maine in Augusta. His specialty was caricatures, done in pencil: he enjoyed doing these caricatures of his friends and favorite musical groups.
He was employed at Shaw’s in Bath for a short time, L.L. Bean in Freeport as a temporary, and finally at Bath Iron Works for 13 years.
Ryan loved guitars. He had several and played very well. His favorite group was Pink Floyd. Even though he was quiet about it, he could play the solo guitar riffs almost as well as David Gilmour.
He is survived by his mother, Joanne Innes of Brunswick, his father, Larry Innes of Benton, one brother, Scott Innes of Richmond and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
