BRUNSWICK
A local group seeking to organize a reunion this summer commemorating the closing of Brunswick Naval Air Station is seeking people interested in serving on its reunion committee.
Plans are underway for a five-year reunion of the closing of BNAS. Remembering the Brunswick Naval Air Station Group is looking for people to join the 2016 reunion committee and welcome back folks who once served on the base or worked there as civilian employees.
The reunion is scheduled to be held July 15-17 and will not be open to the general public, organizers note. More information will be posted on the group’s future website which is also in the works.
The reunion committee is currently a small group in need of help and is also looking for business and corporate sponsorship.
Those interested in helping with the reunion of the 2011 closing of BNAS can contact Mike Acquin at (207)720-0780 or Jeffrey Simpson after 2 p.m. daily at (207) 607-2210.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
