BRIDGEWATER (AP) — Multiple injuries were reported after black ice caused a crash between a car and a pickup truck hauling a snowmobile trailer along U.S. Route 1 in northeastern Maine.
State police say the accident occurred Sunday morning when 55-year-old Dorothy Holyoke-Cosme lost control of her car while traveling northbound on Route 1 in Bridgewater.
Holyoke-Cosme hit a patch of black ice, crossed the centerline and collided with 51- year-old James Small’s truck. Holyoke-Cosme’s vehicle was totaled. Small’s truck suffered extensive damage and his snowmobile trailer was destroyed.
