According to the U.S. National Weather Service, a winter weather advisory is in effect in the Midcoast starting at 5 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Wednesday. The impending storm has lead to the following cancelations: 

TOPSHAM — Tonight’s scheduled “Back to the Future” talk at Topsham Public Library has been canceled due the coming storm.

The presentation was to be the third in a series looking at planning issues in town. Tonight’s presentation would have focused on Topsham’s historic heritage and “Can we build for the future without losing the past?”

The presentation will be rescheduled, possibly in March. A presentation is scheduled fro Feb. 10 at the library focused on the town’s rural heritage as part of the “Back to the Future” series.

BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Schools “Solo and Ensemble Concert” scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m. in the Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary School gym has been canceled due to weather.

BATH — The City of Bath reminds residents it has a winter-long parking ban in place until March 15. No overnight parking more than 30 minutes is allowed on city streets or in municipal parking lots.

TOPSHAM — School Administrative District 75 has canceled its joint teachers negotiations meeting which was scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. tonight at the District Office. Also after school basketball at Mt. Ararat Middle School has been canceled.
