BIDDEFORD — Renette M. Wentworth, 88, of Biddeford, passed away at her residence on Jan. 9, 2016, with her children and grandchildren by her side.

She was born in Biddeford on Nov. 17, 1927, the daughter of Emile and Louise (Rheaume) Masse. Renette attended St. Joseph’s School, and graduated from Biddeford High School. On Aug. 28, 1948. she married Stanley L. Wentworth at St. Mary’s Church in Biddeford.

She was employed at local businesses Butler’s Department Store and Saco Tanning, and as a teachers’ aide with the Biddeford School Department. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, an avid bingo player, and a beach lover.

Renette enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots, and especially enjoyed spending time with her two grandsons and attending their events. Throughout the last 10 years, she loved the activities of Ledgewood Apartments and socializing with her many friends there. They were very special to her .

Renette was predeceased by her husband Stanley on July 24, 2009. Her brothers Raymond, Paul, John and Bernard Masse, and her sisters Lillian Perron, Lorraine Masse and Gil Mahany also passed before her. She has one remaining sister, Frances Nadeau of Biddeford.

She is survived by: her daughter, Kim Loranger and husband Raymond of Biddeford; two grandsons, Kevin Loranger and girlfriend Sarah Croteau of Eliot and Timothy Loranger and wife Kaitlynn of Massachusetts; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visiting hours will be 8:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at Hope Memorial Chapel in Biddeford, with a funeral service to immediately follow. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Renette and her family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Gosnell Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Road, Scarborough, ME 04074.
