KENNEBUNK — This weekend will be the culmination of three months of hard work and practice for the Middle School of the Kennebunks (MSK) cast and crew of Rodger and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella.”
The play will take place at MSK, located on 60 Thompson Road in Kennebunk. Showing will be today and Thursday at 7 p.m. There will be a final showing on Saturday at 2 p.m.
A festive treat for adults and children to enjoy together, “Cinderella” is an enchanting tale where spells are cast and dreams can come true.
Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-cometrue, and so was a second remake in 1997, which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother.
This story of a girl, a gown and a glass slipper will keep your toes tapping ‘til the stroke of midnight. Tickets are $7, and can be purchased at the MSK office or at the door.
