BANGOR ( AP) — A northern Maine man is facing up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to federal charges of possessing and distributing bath salts.

WAGM- TV reports 30- year- old Dustin Giles admitted to the drug charges Tuesday in federal court in Bangor.

U. S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty II says the Caribou resident will be sentenced after the U.S. Probation Office completes its pre-sentence investigation.

Court records say Giles and his accomplices in Aroostook County used the Internet to obtain bath salts from overseas between January 2012 and June 2014. Prosecutors say Giles then distributed the designer drug to multiple buyers.

The Aroostook County Sheriff ’s Office and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service assisted the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency in investigating the case.
