TURNER — Sophia Gilbert and Chantel Eells each scored 16 points as Leavitt defeated Mt. Ararat, 67-46, in a girls high school Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference game on Friday.

Lauren Sturgess paced the Eagles (1-11) with 15 points, with Sara Lamb adding 14.

Mt. Ararat trailed 15-8, 33- 18 and 52-30 at the quarter breaks.

Eells had 14 rebounds and Gilbert 11 for the 6-7 Hornets.

Mt. Ararat hosts Camden Hills this upcoming Friday at 6:30 p.m.

The host Raiders grabbed a 31-15 halftime lead and held on in the second half for a Western Maine Conference win on Friday.

The Falcons, who fell to 7- 5 and hosts Cape Elizabeth today at 5:30 p.m., fell behind 12-8 after a quarter. Despite out-scoring Fryeburg Academy (10-2), 26-20 in the second half, Freeport was unable to pull out the win.

Julia Quinn had 17 points, six assists and four steals for the Raiders, while Alexis L’Heureaux-Carland picked up 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Kayla Belanger paced Freeport with 12 points, with Jess Wall adding 11 and Taylor Rinaldi eight.

Monmouth Academy used a big first half to take control for a Mountain Valley Conference win Friday night.

Lisbon (6-7) received 13 points from Bree Sautter, including three 3-pointers, while Mallory Fairbanks, Jasmin Le and Kaylin Le each finished with six points.

Tia Day had a big day for the Mustangs (11-2), finishing with 18 points, including four treys. Abbey Allen picked up 13 points and nine boards, with Sidney Wilson finishing with 10 points.

The Greyhounds return to action this upcoming Friday at Hall-Dale (5:30 p.m.).

Girls hockey

BRUNSWICK — Bugsy Hammerton picked up a hat trick in St. Dom’s 8-0 victory over Brunswick at Sidney J. Watson Arena on Friday.

Kristina Cornelio had two goals and two assists in the victory. Emma Theriault had a goal and assist. Tia Rotolico and Isabelle Frenette also scored as the Saints improved to 11-1.

Payton Winslow stopped all four shots she faced in the victory.

Jordan Van Savage stopped 20 shots for Brunswick, which fell to 7-7- 1 and visits York today at 3:30 p.m.
