TURNER — The Morse High School jayvee girls basketball team darted out to a 15-2 first-quarter lead en route to a 44-27 victory over Leavitt on Thursday.
The Shipbuilders (5-7) held a 30-8 halftime lead and was up comfortably, 37-14, through three quarters.
Katie Moore led the way in the win with 14 points, with Marissa Parks adding six and Maddy Mitchell five.
Morse went 12-of-16 at the free-throw line, while the Hornets finished 2-of-10.
Ashley Kelley paced Leavitt with 10 points.
