BIDDEFORD — Noella B. L’Heureux, 83, of Biddeford, passed away Monday afternoon, Jan. 18, 2016, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born in Biddeford on July 11, 1932, a daughter of William and Blanche (Guinard) Murphy. She graduated from St. Joseph’s High School, Class of 1950.

Noella married her husband, Roger, on Sept. 6, 1952, at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.

She was employed by St. Andre’s Credit Union and Saco Valley Credit Union for over 30 years. In 1993, she received the outstanding credit union employee award from the Maine Credit Union League. Being an outstanding employee and a volunteer, a lifetime scholarship for students was established in her honor at the credit union.

During retirement, she volunteered for Sweetser Home, Southern Maine Medical Center and St. Andre’s Church, where she was a member of the parish council and school board, founder of the luncheon program, organizer of the 50/50 club an Eucharistic minister.

Noella was a member of the Freemont Club, Altusa and Red Hat Society. She was a volunteer for the Child Abuse & Neglect Council and the Saco Sidewalk Art Festival. She was also cofounder of Carrie’s Kids, and a caregiver for her parents at her home for over 40 years.

Mrs. L’Heureux was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church, Good Shepherd Parish in Saco.

She was predeceased by: her brother, William H. Murphy Jr.

She is survived by: her husband of 63 years, Roger R. L’Heureux of Biddeford; one son, Raymond R. L’Heureux and his wife Barbara of Scarborough; two grandchildren, Brian T. L’Heureux and Mae K. L’Heureux; one sister-inlaw, Germaine Collard; one brother-in-law, Conrad L’Heureux; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
