FREEPORT —The Old Orchard Beach boys and girls basketball teams made the trip to Freeport on Thursday for a doubleheader against Pine Tree Academy and the Seagulls would come home with a pair of lopsided wins.
Boys
OOB 61, PTA 42
The OOB boys had three players score in double digits as they built a 30-18 halftime lead and never looked back.
Senior point guard Erik Hogan led the Seagulls with 20 points. Joe Anderson finished with 13 points and Ian Regan chipped in with 11 points.
OOB would also get six points from Evan Christensen, while Sam Custeau added five and Zach Hirst, Tyler Tozier and Thomas Fregeau all added two points.
The OOB boys improved to 10-4 with the win and jumped up to the No. 4 spot in the Class C South rankings.
Girls
OOB 49, PTA 28
The Lady Gulls came out on fire as they held a 35-9 lead at the break and cruised home for the win.
Brianna Plante nailed four 3-pointers on her way to a team-high 14 points for OOB.
The Lady Gulls also got 10 points from Peyton Feitz and Emily Greenlee added nine points.
The OOB girls improved to 5-8 and are currently in eighth-place in the Class C South standings.
