WATERBORO — The Massabesic wrestling team celebrated senior day in style on Saturday as the Mustangs picked up wins over Biddeford, Sanford and Bonny Eagle.

Massabesic took down Bonny Eagle by a 55-30 score and took a close 43-36 decision over Sanford.

The closest match of the day for the Mustangs came against Biddeford as the home squad picked up a close 39-36 victory over the Tigers.

In the Biddeford-Massabesic showdown, the Mustangs got pins from Leo Amabile (106), Brayden Melvin (113), Noah Schneider (182) and Matthew Carroll (220).

Massabesic also got a decision from Logan Martin at 152 pounds and Justin Goodwin (120) and Zach McGrath (170) both accepted forfeit wins.

Biddeford picked up five wins by fall against the Mustangs. Josiah Garcia (132), Dwayne Dyer (145), Myles Villarreal (160), Shayne Welch (195) and Trey Burnham (285) all picked up pins for the Tigers, who also got a forfeit win from Noah Gagne at 138 pounds.

Despite the tough loss to Massabesic, the Tigers improved to 12-2 on the year as they picked up wins over Sanford and Bonny Eagle.

Biddeford took down Sanford by a 57-18 score and cruised to a 60-18 win over Bonny Eagle.
