WINDHAM — The Thornton Academy girls basketball team held a slim 26-23 lead at halftime, but the Golden Trojans would go on a 14-2 third-quarter run as they took control on their way to a 52-35 win over Windham.
Alex Hart led the Trojans with 13 points and Ashley Howe added 12 points in the win.
Thornton Academy, which improved to 10-7 with the win, also got nine points from Cassidy Cochrane and seven from Kaylee Burns.
Windham was led by Sadie Nelson with 12 points.
TA will host rival Biddeford on Thursday.
Boys Basketball
Westbrook 62, Biddeford 44
The visiting Tigers fell behind 14-4 after the opening quarter and never recovered on Tuesday night.
Biddeford was led by Austin Dutremble with 11 points and Kyle Norton with 10 points. Alex Millett chipped in with nine points and Breece Sleeper added five points.
Curtis Knapton led Westbrook with 18 points and Nemieceo Loureino added 16 points.
Biddeford will host rival Thornton Academy on Thursday.
