BATH — Sometime before Memorial Day weekend, the city will display updated business directories on existing kiosks outside City Hall and at Waterfront Park.

And through noon on Friday, Feb. 26, the city, working with the Main Street Bath organization, is looking for businesses anywhere in Bath – as well as government and nonprofit groups – to submit their information and a $15 check to City Clerk’s Office, 55 Front St., Bath, ME 04530.

Application forms can be found at cityofbath.com.

Last updated in 2013, the directory – the same version of which is found at both locations – has included the names, addresses, phone numbers, websites and brief descriptions of 103 businesses and organizations, Community Development Director Marc Meyers said in an interview Feb. 11.

“It’s part way-finding, part promotion,” he said.

Although the directory’s map shows the locations of downtown businesses, any such operation in Bath can be listed in the index, which is sorted by business types.

“We keep the previous list, and work our way through,” Meyers said, noting that the city reaches out to businesses from which it has yet to hear before the deadline.

Updates tend to be every two or three years, to keep the information fresh. The existing laminate directory will be removed, with a new one laid in its place. The $15 fee goes toward maintenance of the kiosks.

“It’s a great resource for community members and visitors alike, to be able to find retail offerings, lodging, services,” Meyers said.

Bath will update its directory of businesses, organizations and services by Memorial Day weekend. The directory is on two kiosks: this one outside City Hall on Front Street, and one at Waterfront Park.
