OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Looking for something fun to do with the kids during winter break? OOB365’s annual Winter Carnival is once again bringing family-friendly activities to break up the winter doldrums.

“It is a great time to come to play a little in Old Orchard Beach,” said Sharri MacDonald, a member of OOB365, a local economic development organization .

The event begins Thursday with a kid’s carnival at Loranger Memorial School from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities will include a slide, a bounce house and carnival games.

On Friday night, there will be a sledding party downtown from 4-9 p.m., and Old Orchard Street will be transformed into a snow hill.

The fun continues on Saturday with sledding from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and other activities including pony rides, ice bowling and snow man building.

J.J.s Eatery will host a character breakfast from 7-11 a.m. Saturday, and children who go to the restaurant to eat that morning are encouraged to come in costume.

For adults, there will be a pub crawl Saturday at 7 p.m.

“A lot of planning has gone into this event for the benefit of our citizens and their families, and we appreciate OOB365’s efforts,” said Assistant Town Manager V. Louise Reid.

Admission to most events is free. For more information, call 590-4201 or visit oob365.com.
