DURHAM — Robert L. Johnson, 80 of Durham died February 15, 2016 at Falmouth by the Sea. Bob was born in Auburn, Maine October 12, 1935 to Henry and Estelle Johnson and had 8 siblings. He worked as a machinist much of his career and retired as a maintenance manager at L.L. Bean.

He was a wonderful father who found a unique balance of providing love and support all the while commanding attention to rules. He had a strong work ethic of which he instilled in his (3) children. What he loved the most was the company and events of his grandchildren and of recent, the joy of his great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Johnson of 58 years and his daughter Rhonda and Tom Vosmus, his sons: Rick Johnson and Shirely Passalaqua and John and Lori Johnson. In addition he is survived by his 4 grandchildren: Justin Vosmus, Kristen and Tim Johnson and Joseph Chase, along with 11 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Falmouth by the Sea for their wonderful, loving care.

There will be a celebration of Bob’s life at The United Church of Christ in Durham on Rt. 136 Saturday March 5th @11am.
