BIDDEFORD — A third candidate has emerged for the special election to fill the Senate District 32 seat left vacant by David Dutremble’s unexpected resignation last month.
On Monday, Biddeford business owner and Green Independent Party candidate Alan C. Brown filed paperwork to run in the March 29 special election. Brown owns New England Computer Solutions on Oak Ridge Road.
Brown will face off against Democrat Susan Deschambault, a retired social worker who chairs the Biddeford Planning Board, and Republican Steve Martin, a bail commissioner and retired police officer.
The winner of the special election will fill the seat until the general election in November. Another Democrat, former Biddeford mayor, city councilor and state representative Joanne Twomey, intends to run in that race.
District 32 includes Alfred, Arundel, Biddeford, Dayton, Kennebunkport and Lyman. Look for more on this story in Thursday’s Journal Tribune.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
