AUGUSTA (AP) — A former martial arts instructor will likely spend the rest of his life in prison after a Maine judge sentenced him to 60 years for raping two boys.
Justice Michaela Murphy sentenced convicted 38-year-old child pornographer Wade Robert Hoover on Wednesday.
Hoover is already serving a 40-year federal sentence and has been ordered to serve his sentences concurrently. He’ll go to a state facility after his federal sentence is finished.
Indictments say Hoover committed gross sexual assault of two children between December 2008 and February 2010. He pleaded guilty on Nov. 30.
The Kennebec Journal reports Hoover asked for the victims’ families’ forgiveness during Wednesday’s court appearance.
The mother of one of the victims asked the judge to make sure Hoover spends the rest of his life behind bars.
