BIDDEFORD — Coastal Healthy Communities Coalition at the University of New England announces the availability of Worksite Wellness Mini-Grants aimed at assisting local worksites in creating workplace wellness teams, developing and implementing health and wellness programs and activities, and creating policies to support employee health and wellness. Mini-Grant awards are for up to $500.
Eligible applicants must be a worksite within the CHCC service area which includes: Arundel, Biddeford, Buxton, Dayton, Hollis, Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Old Orchard Beach and Saco.
Award requirements include a commitment to: Develop and/or sustain a workplace wellness team, complete the Healthy US Scorecard assessment, conduct an employee interest survey, select at least one policy change initiative during the funding period, implement at least one wellness activity during the funding period, and host CHCC staff for a site visit in early fall 2016 showcasing worksite wellness initiatives.
Application deadline is Friday at 5 p.m. Notification of awards will take place March 11, the funding period will occur between March 14 and Oct. 28, and the last report due will occur on Nov. 30.
