BIDDEFORD — Pauline B. Couture, 84, of Biddeford, died peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Pauline was born Aug. 31, 1931, to Arthur and Antoinette Maurice. She grew up in Biddeford in a large family with her two brothers, four sisters and one niece.

She met and fell in love with her soulmate, John Couture. They were married on May 1, 1948, and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary prior to John’s passing in 2014. Pauline and John welcomed their first child, a daughter, Claire. The family continued to grow with the birth of a son, Andre, and two more daughters, Patricia and Dolores.

Family was a big part of Pauline’s life. Weekends and vacations were spent with extended family and friends; there was always a party or something to celebrate. There were few things Pauline loved more than being with her family and friends, and having her house full of people. She loved to bake and cook. Pauline was adored by many for her giving and loving personality.

In more recent years, Pauline enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren. She often took them to the movies, out to lunch or had pillow fights with them.

Pauline was an active member of several auxiliary groups over the years. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Red Hats.

She was preceded in death by: her loving husband, John; and daughter, Claire.

She is survived by: Her son, Andre and his wife Carol of Biddeford; two daughters, Patricia LeClair and her husband Robert of Saco, and Dolores Jerome and her husband Bradford of Biddeford; four grandchildren, Richie Mozzicato and Hillary LeClair Ames of Biddeford, Heather LeClair of Boston, and Lance Couture of Gorham; five great-grandchildren, Keegan Couture of Gorham, Justin and Mya Mozzicato, and Mackenzie and Mason Ames, all of Biddeford; and other family members, including a sister, Theresa Paquette of Biddeford, and niece Doris Greene of Lyman and her two grandsons, Chandler and Devin Greene of Biddeford.

There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
